Thank you for 10th Year of Earth Day Fair!

Montgomery Township Environmental Commission and Sustainable Montgomery proudly presented the 10th Annual Earth Day/Green Fair on Sunday, April 19, 2015.  It was a great day with terrific offerings for the many who attended.  Photos of the 2015 Earth Day Fair are found in the photo galleries of the Montgomery Twp. website.  Resident response to the offering of collection point for metals, electronics, and other materials for recycling was phenomenal (see photos). Over 3,000 lbs of paper was shredded and 7,120 lbs of metal was collected!

The volunteer Environmental Commission and Sustainable Montgomery and their supporters deserve a depth of gratitude from our residents for orchestrating Montgomery’s only environmental public fair for 10 very successful years in a row.  This is an amazing achievement!

Thank you also to this year’s sponsors – Calaway Henderson Sotheby’s International Realty, Montgomery Womens Club, Rocky Hill Cleaners, and The Waldorf School of Princeton!

The purpose of the Fair is to:

-facilitate the exchange of environmentally friendly/sustainability  ideas and information

  -promote environmentally responsible/sustainable actions, and

-celebrate the environmentally responsible practices that local businesses and groups are using.

Hundreds of people come through the Fair each year, held at Montgomery High School, and there is never a charge for admission or to participate. Environmentally friendly businesses and non-profits are welcome to table at the event to provide educational materials.
