We all know that Montgomery is a special place to live, and that’s due, in large part, because there are so many people who care about our community.  The Environmental Commission wants to recognize those local residents, students, businesses and organizations that are taking steps to protect our shared environment with the inaugural “Montgomery Environmental Awards”.

Tell us about the work of your neighbor who turned their yard into a backyard habitat, or a student who volunteers to shine a light on environmental issues, or a local business going above and beyond to incorporate sustainable practices into their operations.

The Township is seeking nominations by July 15 September 1 in the categories of:  1) Climate Change & Clean Air; 2) Water Resources; 3) Healthy Ecosystems & Habitats; 4) Landowner of the Year; and 5) Healthy & Sustainable Businesses.  The nominee must be located within the Township, be active within the year prior to the nomination due date, and agree to share information on their project for future publicity.  For a description of the categories and nomination process, see guidelines and details at the Environmental Awards webpage.

Nominations are due by 4:00PM on September 1, 2021 via email to or via mail to:  Montgomery Environmental Commission, 2261 Van Horne Road, Belle Mead NJ 08502.  Awards will be made in the Fall.
